The Makenna M. Maurisak Creative Scholarship was established in loving memory of Makenna M. Maurisak, a remarkable creative force whose imagination, storytelling, and artistic spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to experience her work. This scholarship exists to carry forward Makenna’s creative legacy by supporting students who aspire to build a better world through art, storytelling, design, and creative expression.

Scholarship Purpose

This scholarship is designed for graduating high school seniors who are pursuing a college degree in the creative artsand who demonstrate a deep commitment to using their creativity with intention, purpose, and vision. It is not limited to students attending large universities… community college students are equally encouraged to apply.

For its inaugural year, eligibility is limited to students from the Chicagoland area, with the long-term vision of expanding access as the scholarship grows through community support and donations.
